This print of mine called ‘Bidthai Luwun Gasaman’ means caught by squid lure. The artwork shows a squid going to the squid lure instead of the two sardines in the background. In the monsoon the squid is plentiful and you’ll see lots of people casting lures with handlines from the beach beach during the day and off the jetty at night. When the season is on, I prefer to go out at night in a dinghy in the shallows to catch my squid. I take a car battery, some paddles for cousins and brothers to paddle while I stand up front with my spotlight in one hand and my spear in the other.
