My painting of the Kabim (mottled spinefoot) was inspired to me as being one of my favourite eating fish and is abundance up here in the Torres Strait waters.

We catch the Kabim using thin hand held fishing lines and small hooks with flour dough as bait or we'd speared them with locally made traditional bamboo one iron spear fishing spears.

Kabim is also really good eating when golden fry and it also as a painful sting which is soothed by peeing on the inflected area which ease the pain when pricked by the Kabim fins or spikes.
