This print about the circle of a warru’s (turtle) life. The story is shown on a coconut palm leaf weaved into a fan which represents the wind and islands where the story takes place. The story starts at the base of the fan where a warru kazil (turtle hatchling) starts its lifetime journey and travels from the beach to the sea. The design depicts a small warru thurr (turtle track) towards the cilelbadth (shoreline). It passes the other warru kakurrul (turtle eggs) on the shoreline on its journey before meeting its future self as a mature warru returning to lay kakurrul at the exact same beach where it first hatched. The mature warru returns with the design around her showing her thurral (tracks) going up the beach to lay kakurrul. Laurie Nona 2010
